Model LS7000/2 Dual-Point Level Switch |

The
LS7000/2 dual-point RF level switch uses the proprietary radio
frequency (RF) balanced impedence bridge. It is specifically designed
to automatically fill or empty a tank, vessel or sump. The high and
low set points are adjustable over the entire length of the probe.
This unit works best in homogeneous liquids.
The dual-point level switch uses a single relay and an on-board latching
circuit for automatic operation. No external latching relays or holding
contacts are required Simply wire the relay output in series with
the pump starter. To automatically fill a vessel, select "AUTO-FILL" on the
electronics, and the relay will energize when the material is below
the "LOW" set point. The pump will turn on and continue
to run until the level reaches the "HIGH" set point, then
shut off. For "AUTO-EMPTY", the relay action is reversed.
*For electrically conductive materials, a Halar coated probe is required. |

Calibration
All the necessary calibration indicators are on-board so all you need
to calibrate the LS7000/2 is a small screwdriver. The modular electronics
make trouble shooting and repair a snap. The entire unit is backed
by our two
year warranty.
Construction
The probe is made of solid 316 stainless steel rod and the insulator
is made of Teflon. A Halar coating on the probe is required in all
electrically conductive liquids. The seals are made with Viton Fluoroelastomer
"O" rings. All the electronics are housed in a cast aluminum
explosion-proof enclosure.

| APPLICATION NOTES |
| The LS7000/2 is designed to automatically
fill or automatically empty a vessel. LS7000/2 has only one relay,
and this relay is dedicated to the auto fill or auto empty application.
It will not give two discrete outputs as is needed to drive two indicating
lights. |
| LS7000/2 is designed to work in homogeneous liquids. Liquids that change
in conductivity or processes where various materials are be in the
vessel at different times are undesirable applications, unless two
probes are utilized. |
| LS7000/2 must have a halar coated probe when used in electrically conductive
liquids. Water and water based liquids are electrically conductive. |
| LS7000/2 Must be grounded to the liquid for optimum repeatability.
If the unit is inserted through a threaded fitting at the top of a
metal tank, the unit will be properly grounded. In non-metallic tanks
such as fiberglass or poly, special grounding provisions may be necessary
to ensure repeatability. |
| Material
adhering to the probe will effect setpoint repeatability.
If this is a problem, utilize two single point switches. |
| Critical
Filling Applications require the use of a separate independent
high level switch for interlock, alarm and or shutdown. Always best
to add the safety interlock to protect your equipment and personnel
with a fail safe high fill valve closure and pump control, sound an
audible and visual alarm to alert plant operators. |
