High demands are imposed on the protective mechanisms employed to protect people working on machines. The new safety light barriers developed by Bernstein meet the highest standards (control category 4) set by prEN 50 100-2 and EN 61 496-1.

The enclosures of these safety light barriers are compact and robust. With a resolution of 14 mm (to detect fingers) or 29 mm (to detect hands) and a grid height of 120 mm, these light barriers can be optimally integrated into any machine without changing the ergonomics of the workplace. The operator is protected and can carry on working without downtimes. Moreover, these are the only light barriers available on the market in which all the main functions have been integrated: relay outputs or electronic outputs, restart (automatic/manual), monitoring of the power contactors, etc. An additional switch box is not required between the light barrier and the machine circuit.
